The slide has a controlled reciprocating motion toward and away from the bed surface and at right angles to it. It is guided in the frame of the machine — either a “C” frame. There are common hazards associated with the use of machine shop equipment and tools. The Machine Shop Safety program provides guidance on the use of personal protective equipment, machine guarding, and recommended safety policies.
